Two productions supported by the Austrian Television Fund (FERNSEHFONDS AUSTRIA) broadcast on television for the first time:
The Austrian Television Fund supported the television film “Verfolgt – Der kleine Zeuge” with EUR 330,000. The film is a co-production of FILM27 Multimedia Produktions GmbH and Constantin Television GmbH with the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) and Sat.1.
A little boy named Tao becomes a witness to a murder in a Chinese Restaurant in Vienna. Tao manages to escape from the killers at the very last moment, but they know that there has been a witness. During his escape, Tao meets Ester, a woman who has recently lost her eyesight and thus is embittered. At first, she doesn’t even realise that the boy has been hiding in her apartment. Even though the two of them can hardly communicate, Ester understands that he needs her help. Ester and her ex-fiancé, Gerry, protect Tao from his pursuers, thereby putting themselves in danger.
The production was first broadcast on ORF eins and on Sat.1 on 24 April 2012, at 8.15 pm.
The television film “Ein Sommer in Kroatien“ was supported by the Austrian Television Fund with the amount of EUR 220,000 (14,6% of overall production costs). It was produced by Graf Filmproduktion GmbH for the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) and ZDF.
Ena, a perfectly organised restaurant manager, is taken by complete surprise when her fiancé walks out on her shortly before their wedding. All their plans to found a restaurant together are a thing of the past. Just then, Ena learns that she has family in Rovinj, a town in Istria. The joy of meeting her grandmother and aunt does not last very long, though, since Ena has to face a great challenge. The film was shot in Graz, Austria, and Croatia.
It was first broadcast on ORF 2 on 25 April 2012, at 8.15 pm.
