The present study addresses questions about the openness of the internet from the perspective of possible limitations emanating from operating systems, app stores and applications for consumers (demand side) and application developers (supply side). The focus is on topics such as platform markets, market power and innovation.
The starting point is often competition law procedures and current developments, which are also discussed with regard to their significance for Austria.
