Consumer services

Postal services are an important part of the infrastructure on which we rely on a daily basis. In Austria, the Postal Markets Act (PMG) regulates postal services to ensure that consumers have access to services which are as diverse, low-cost and high-quality as possible.

We provide information about postal services in Austria and the difference between postal items. We also provide an overview of universal service in the Austrian postal sector, which guarantees access to postal services for all people and businesses in Austria.

Frequently asked questions about postal services are answered on a dedicated page (in German). You can also send us any questions you may have via this page.

If you are experiencing difficulties with a postal service provider, you can get in touch with RTR's conciliation body. Find out more about the conditions for starting a conciliation procedure and how conciliation procedures work on the dedicated page of the conciliation body.

Using our web form, you can let us know if postal service providers frequently do not deliver letters or parcels to your adress. Your reports help us monitor the overall situation and develop countermeasures in case of undesirable developments on a systematic basis.
