The 385-390 MHz (uplink) and 395-399.9 MHz (downlink) frequency ranges are designated for digital trunked radio systems for private users and providers of mobile communication services.
The 380-385 MHz (uplink) and 390-395 MHz (downlink) frequency ranges are designated for authorities and organizations which provide emergency services and perform security-related functions (e.g., the Digital Radio BOS Austria Project
of the Interior Ministry).
- In the auction on February 3, 2000, 40 TETRA duplex channels (each with a bandwidth of 25 kHz) for public services using digital trunked radio were allocated to TetraCall Bündelfunk Errichtungs- und Betriebs-GmbH (later master-talk Austria Telekom Service GmbH; K50/98).
- In the allocation procedure carried out in 2002, no valid bids were submitted (K09/02).
- On June 21, 2004, the transfer of frequency usage rights from mastertalk to Frequentis GmbH was approved (K50/98-63, application).
- On October 30, 2014, Frequentis GmbH waived the frequency usage rights according to K50/98 (F2/14-06).
